Discrimination towards Indigenous women in the Workplace

This year, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s report to parliament indicated the federal government was not on track to meet six of the seven targets in its ‘Closing the Gap’ initiative.

Dr Jackie Huggins AM, the co-chair of the National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples, told SBS News: “To create a harmonious society, free of racial discrimination, we need to talk about these very issues that hold us back.

Many of my Corporate Indigenous Clients cop direct and indirect discrimination in the workplace on a daily basis. It erodes our self-esteem and takes a heavy toll on our confidence.  Bullying in the workplace is too common these days.  Here are some of the bully’s techniques:-

  • Sarcasm
  • Unjustified criticism
  • Trival faultfinding
  • Humiliation, especially in front of others

I speak to Indigenous Corporate women every day on this issue. The first step is to take control and acknowledge that you need to be more assertive. I can be your Life Coach to help you make decisive action quickly.  Call me now on 0497 032 528 for a Confidential Yarn
